Saturday Racing Multi: Back Skelton success to continue in Uttoxeter 17/1 double

Alan Dudman Racing Tips
Alan Dudman has a pair of tips in a 17/1 double this weekend

Alan Dudman's two fancies on Saturday for his multiple column run at Uttoxeter...

  • Two Uttoxeter fancies on Midlands Grand National Day

  • Skelton and Richards have major claims

  • Alan Dudman's two fancies in a double pays out 17/118.00 on Betfair Sportsbook

Uttoxeter, 14:25: Back A Pai De Nom @ 10/34.33

I was initially torn here with French Ship in the race, as I thought he might have been an outsider for the Stayers' Hurdle. He's off top weight here from 146 and 12st, but with A Pai De Nom running off 10-11 and receiving so much weight, I hope the swticheroo doesn't come back to haunt me.

I also thought A Pai De Nom would have been Cheltenham Festival bound after winning a Class 3 at Newbury last time in heavy going - a performance that for me, smacked of a Martin Pipe type.

And here we are in a pretty hot race, but A Pai De Nom has gone up just 5lb to 129 for a 5L win, and conditions, if accurate from the Uttoxeter commissars, might suit him a little better with more of an emphasis on stamina.

Uttoxeter, 15:35: Back Milcree @ 10/34.33

Milcree has been one to wait for over fences in the Hemmings colours, proving that patience is an admirable trait.

He made his comeback at Ayr after 622 days, an absence so long he'd almost become a Greystoke eremite. The time away was no barrier to a super smooth performance as he displayed a lovely relaxed attitude over his fences, and his jump at the ditch preceding the straight was a super leap - followed by two more good ones to seal the win. His race IQ on jumps' lengths gained was the best in the field.

Milcree travelled well in the soft going on that occasion and followed up to make it two from two over fences at Kelso with a little further in distance and in more testing going. To highlight his stamina, his final sectional at the end of 2m6f in heavy clocked 16.27, the third had 19.00 seconds.

He was  awkward over hurdles as a young horse, but he has matured, the extra yards again will suit and there's a nice novice handicap chase on Scottish Grand National Day potentially down the line.
