Peter Coleman got his first career win on Raymond he can notch up his second today

"He’s 7lbs higher now but if that has got his confidence high, he could still be a bit ahead of the handicapper and can go in again"

Alan Thompson has two selections today, the first at Musselburgh and the second under the floodlights at Kempton...

Raymond can make it back-to-back wins for Keith Dagleish

Back Raymond @ 4/1 in the 14:50 Musselburgh

Things finally clicked for Keith Dalgleish's Raymond at Perth last time, appreciating the sound surface. It gave jockey Peter Coleman his first win under rules, as he patiently held up the five-year-old to come from off the pace and win by a length and a half, a race which has since been franked by the runner up coming out and winning again recently.

He's 7lbs higher now but if that has got his confidence high, he could still be a bit ahead of the handicapper and can go in again.

The favourite is Lake Takapuna who returned after having seven months off the course and wind surgery to record a win and a career best performance over two miles and a furlong handicap chase at Kelso 49 days ago. The nine-year-old is back over hurdles again today and he is sure to be there at the business end of the race. However, his two hurdle wins have been off 9lbs lower than he is today and he is probably a better chaser than hurdler.

El Hombre is dropping down in class

Back El Hombre @ 10/3 in the 18:20 Kempton

The last time El Hombre ran in a Class 4 event was May 2017, a race he won carrying a 6lb penalty off a mark of 82.

He runs today off 85 and can take full advantage of the drop in class.

He has been regularly plying his trade in some quality Class 2 & 3 races for the past couple of years and won his last two races when he has run at this level. He has only recently moved to Mark Loughnane's yard and is yet to win for his new landlord, but he looked like he was back on track when he finished second of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton just over a month ago.

There was plenty to like about that run and a reproduction of that form, with Andrea Atzeni on board could make him tough to beat here.

Rock Sound is the favourite and he is another that has switched yards recently, from Declan Carroll's yard to George Boughey. He had his first run for the yard last time out where he was an excellent second in a handicap at Chelmsford 11 days ago, where he pulled clear of rest. The low mileage five-year-old has only run three times on the all weather where he has won and finished second twice. However he is up another 4lb for that second and off a career high 81, so he is going to have to improve again if he is to win this.
