#6 Major Winter - Vaal R5 (13:45 GMT)
Major Winter shaped well on debut at Turffontein in December and, though he could only run to a similar level over the same course and distance last time, he represents a yard bang in form. He can prove too strong for Ushuaia, who is also open to improvement after just two starts.
#2 Lotus - Vaal R6 (14:15 GMT)
It is hard to argue with the consistency of Lotus, who has finished runner-up a remarkable five times from seven starts, and appears to have been found a good opportunity to deservedly open her account here. Her biggest threat on form is Senescence, but it will be disappointing if Lotus doesn't come home in front here.
#4 Chenopod - Vaal R7 (14:45 GMT)
Chenopod has had more opportunities than her main market rival Bend Not Break, but the level of her form is superior, and she looks the percentage call here. She had found only one rival too good the last twice and the booking of Joe of Gwingwizha a plus.
