A Newmarket NAP, Next Best and Each-Way from Timeform
Newmarket NAP - 15:15 - Back Arabian Crown
Arabian Crown stepped up on his debut form when opening his account in a maiden at Sandown in July, beating a subsequent winner by two lengths in decisive fashion, and he then took another step forward to follow up in a listed contest at Salisbury last time.
That was a useful performance from Arabian Crown to take the step up in grade in his stride, proving well suited by the step up to a mile as he pulled clear in the closing stages to win by two and a quarter lengths with a bit in hand.
That form is the best on offer in this line-up and the still longer trip is likely to eke out more improvement. Trained by Charlie Appleby, who is seeking a third straight success in this Group 3, Arabian Crown seems sure to take plenty of beating in his hat-trick bid.
Newmarket Next Best - 15:50 - Back Real Gain
Real Gain resumed his progress with an emphatic victory in a handicap over this course and distance a couple of weeks ago, really impressing with the way he forged clear late on to land the spoils by five and a half lengths.
That was his first start against his elders and it took a borderline smart performance to put them to the sword in the manner that he did, proving himself much better than a BHA mark of 91.
On that evidence Real Gain's days in handicaps are behind him and, beaten just once in four starts, he is well worth a try at this sort of level with further progress by no means out of the question.
Newmarket Each-Way - 16:25 - Back Fair Angellica
Fair Angellica looked a useful prospect when winning both her starts on the all-weather in September, first making a successful debut in a maiden at Kempton and then showing improved form to defy a penalty in a novice event at Chelmsford.
She was well on top at the finish on the last occasion, hitting the front inside the final furlong and just needing to be kept up to her work from there to beat another previous winner by a length and a quarter.
Very much the type to go on improving, Fair Angellica now makes the switch to nurseries and a BHA mark of 76 looks a fair starting point to life in this sphere as she tries to keep her unbeaten record intact.
