Alan Thompson returns to the tipping chair and has two selections from Lingfield and Windsor...

Luna Wish could have found a real soft task here

This is certainly not a race that will live long in the memory but there are only two horses in the event that have actually won a race before, one is Banmi for Mrs Christine Dunnett and the other is Luna Wish. While the latter is not the most consistent of performers I think George Margarson may have found a weak race for his three-year-old filly to get her third career win. She went close on the all weather here two starts ago and she is now just 2lb above her last winning rating.

She has the strongest form in the field, granted there isn't much to beat, but for a small yard the Margarson stable have hit a bit of a purple patch recently (two wins from their last five starters) and it would be disappointing if she was unable to break her turf duck here with Tom Queally doing the steering.

Poetic Lilly is the current market leader. She ran well to finish third last time out and that was in a similarly weak race, but prior to that she sat down when the stalls opened at Kempton and unseated Jason Watson. Unpredictable is certainly one way to describe her (a word you can use for many of these) and at least Luna Wish knows how to win.

Zoran can break his maiden tag today

Hugo Palmer is another trainer in a rich vein of form at the minute and he runs his three-year-old colt Zoran in this handicap. He has shown plenty of ability in three opening starts and ran well to finish second on handicap debut at Redcar. The winner that day, First Impression, was very unlucky to lose at Ripon in a class 3 handicap at the end of August. Zoran gave the impression that he'd relish a further step up in distance, and he gets that today. He remains completely unexposed and with Tom Marquand on board, I think he has an exceptional chance in this.

The current favourite is Spanish Kiss who improved last time out to finish strong at the finish on his recent handicap debut, there could well be more to come for William Knight's colt but this is his first run on the turf and I think others in the field pose a bigger threat to Zoran. I think East End Girl and Tao Te Ching could give the selection the most to do but ultimately I think they will all be fighting for the minor places.
