Alan thinks Ben Curtis has a good chance of a winner at Ripon with Repetitio

"That victory came over 2m, which is why he found the 1m6f not a sufficient examination of his stamina last time at Haydock."

Back Repetitio @ 5.04/1 in the 14:50 at Ripon

Alan Dudman's two selection for Thursday both run on the flat at Ripon this afternoon...

Easterby sprinter can take advantage of attractive mark

13:15 Ripon - Back Staxton @ 7.06/1

For those that put a bit of faith in trainer form, although I am aware others do not subscribe, then Tim Easterby is the man for you. His horses were red hot on Tuesday.

The David Chapman Memorial Handicap honours the former trainer who handled some greats such as Soba and Quito, and we've got an excellent line up for this year's renewal.

One horse that potentially is thrown in from his current mark is Staxton, and with Easterby going so well, he looks good each-way punting material.

He's a prominent racer with a high draw and is adaptable in terms of ground. Considering he was fifth in last year's Great St Wilfrid at the track from 99 (and second in his group), surely he can go close off a much lower 84 now?

He didn't run too badly in a good race at Newcastle last time as he was caught up in the pace battle up front.

Return to 2m will suit Hawke's Repetitio

14:50 Ripon - Back Repetitio @ 5.04/1

Sticking with Ripon, I like Nigel Hawke's Repetitio in the staying event over 2m.

He has posted some fairly useful form over hurdles and this looks a good opportunity to add to his seasonal tally on the Flat this season, with one under the belt already at Chepstow.

That victory came over 2m, which is why he found the 1m6f not a sufficient examination of his stamina last time at Haydock. He ran well, but he just couldn't close the gap on the William Haggas-trained Space Walk.

Back up in distance will suit and whilst Pour Moi horses tend to like soft ground, he seems to have enough form on a good surface to not worry too much.
