Ripon continues their two-day fixture with racing on Tuesday

"Armed with a decent draw in 10, he can take advantage of a class drop with a dangerous mark."

Back Flying Pursuit @ 9.08/1 in the 16:00 at Ripon

Ripon stages some good racing on Tuesday and Alan likes the look of a sprinter in one of the handicaps....

Frankelio to gallop to success at Ripon

14:30 Ripon - Back Frankelio @ 8.07/1

With a handful of unexposed 3yo runners for this handicap, the likes of Challet and Magic Voice will have their supporters, but I am backing one of the older brigade here in Frankelio.

I don't mind siding with top weights that have raced in a stronger grade, and that's precisely the case with Micky Hammond's 5yo, who has competed in a pair of 0-80s this term - and Tuesday is a 0-70.

Last time at Pontefract he was well beaten, but he travelled like a horse who can win from his current rating of 71, but I suspect he found the ground a bit too lively given the quick conditions.

In 2019 he was running from 84, and from a 13lb lower mark today, should be able to get in the shake-up.

Pursuit poised for bold show in competitive sprint

16:00 Ripon - Back Flying Pursuit @ 9.08/1

I backed a couple of Tim Easterby horses in my last stint and it didn't quite work out, but the trainer gets the nod with one of his representatives in a cracking looking 6f handicap at 16:00.

Comprising of a who's who of the northern sprinting scene, there are some stalwarts set to go well, none more so than three-time course winner Flying Pursuit.

He beat my old favourite Golden Apollo last season at York in soft ground from a mark of 94, and some fine sprinters were behind him that day.

Six furlongs on slow ground really suits, so conditions should be perfect .Last time he was outpaced over course and distance in a stronger grade, and he also met some trouble late on,

Armed with a decent draw in 10 with the cheek-pieces back on, he can take advantage of a class drop with a dangerous mark.
