Step back down in trip to suit
Killarney 13:50: Lizzy's Filly 1pt e/w 5/1
Lizzy's Filly was comfortably beaten at this track last time but that was over 1m3f and I think she can bounce back down to a more suitable trip.
She was always racing a bit too keenly last time and stayed in touch with the leading group until dropping away quickly inside the final furlong.
Prior to that, she had run two good races in defeat at Galway and Roscommon. The race at Galway was over a very similar trip to the one she races over today and she raced a bit further back than midfield before making up plenty of ground after coming out of the dip to finish third.
Lizzy's Filly was ridden much handier next time at Roscommon over 1m2f, when she was pushed along early to race in second turning away from the stands. She continued to hold that position until going to the front around 1½ furlongs out. She was joined again by Free To Party a furlong out and couldn't quite hold off that challenge, being beaten a head.
I think this is a more suitable distance for Lizzy's Filly than the trip she was racing over last time and I'm hoping they will look to ride her positively again back down in trip.
I'm not sure this trip is suitable for a couple of her rivals while Clemmie C is the most talented of these but her head carriage under pressure hasn't convinced.
It may be that Lizzy's Filly ideally wants a bit further or that this race will come too soon returning off a 9-day break but I think she should be second favourite and any 4/1 or bigger appeals.
