Medalla De Oro looks a big price on handicap debut

"I think its time he got his head in front again, he will be better for that last run run, a race where the front two pulled well clear of the field (17 lengths)"

Back Medalla De Oro Each Way @ 9/1 in the 15:05 Plumpton

Alan Thompson returns to the tipping chair this week. He kicks off with one over the jumps at Plumpton and another at Wolverhampton...

Medalla De Oro is too big to ignore

Back Medalla De Oro Each Way @ 9/1 in the 15:05 Plumpton

Harry Whittington's six-year-old, Medalla De Oro has been knocking on the door lately after a trio of seconds, the last of which was at Fakenham, returning to the track after a 94 day break. It's time he got his head in front again, he will be better for that last run, a race where the front two pulled well clear of the field (17 lengths). He was a fairly useful flat horse who won four times on the level and made a bright start to hurdling winning at Fakenham.

His jockey today is a young 10lb claimer (Jamie Neild) learning his trade but his allowance will come in very useful here and it was Jamie who won on him on his debut over hurdles in March. He's an attractive price on handicap debut today and can be backed each way in this 14-runner contest.

Ralph Beckett's charge can Dazzle at Wolverhampton

Back Dazzling Rock @ 5/2 in the 18:20 Wolverhampton

Dazzling Rock only went down by a head when last seen at Kempton in September and Ralph Beckett's charge looks like he can gain compensation here. Richard Kingscote is an interesting jockey booking as he takes the ride on the horse for the first time and the five-year-old is just 1lb higher in the weights for that performance. Prior to that second, he had two decent fourth's in Class 3 company but he will find this a bit easier today.

No doubt Arabian Warrior is the one to beat, Saeed bin Suroor's runner has been sent off favourite in his last two starts but failed to convert on either.

This time he does get a handy weight-for-age allowance, has the talented Angus Villiers claiming 5lbs on his back and it was here where he won his maiden. But he keeps finding ways to get beat and I would be concerned that this could be another one that he fails to convert.
