Fontwell Nap - 16:20 - Back Sangiovese
Gary Moore is much the most successful trainer at Fontwell and can have another winner at his local track with progressive young hurdler Sangiovese.
He's been brought along steadily since making his hurdling debut at Plumpton in October and he got off the mark when well backed for his handicap debut in a novice contest at Southwell last month.
Stepped back up to two and a half miles, Sangiovese didn't look the easiest of rides but was well on top at the finish, leading at the last and forging clear to beat Mistymal three and a quarter lengths. With further improvement expected, Sangiovese can follow up over this slightly longer trip off a 7 lb higher mark.
Fontwell Next Best - 15:20 - Back He's A Latchico
Earlier on the card, Moore and Caolin Quinn, claiming 3 lb, also have a good chance with He's A Latchico. The selection was fairly useful on the Flat, winning four times for the same connections, and he's taken well to hurdles too, his two wins in that sphere both coming at Fontwell early in the season.
He's A Latchico has found one two good in his last couple of runs in novice handicaps at Sandown and Lingfield but they were good efforts, particularly last time where he came up against Paul Nicholls' useful prospect Inthewaterside, shaping very well to finish clear of the rest behind the winner who made all. He can maintain his unbeaten record at Fontwell.
