Alafdhal - 19:00 Chelmsford
Alafdhal was strong in the market when resuming winning ways over course and distance at the beginning of November, narrowing denying his stablemate as he defied a falling mark, and he left the impression he was still in top form when finishing fifth at Kempton last time. That was over seven furlongs and he travelled like the best horse at the weights, but he didn't see the race out as strongly as looked likely. The move back to six furlongs looks a good move with that in mind - both of his wins have come at this trip - and he is expected to launch another bold bid with leading all-weather jockey Kevin Stott maintaining the ride.
NEXT BEST
Idee Fixee - 17:30 Chelmsford
Idee Fixee has shown plenty of promise in his three starts so far, finishing runner-up on each occasion, but also bumping into some useful types all the same. He was well backed to open his account at Lingfield last time and he ran his best race in defeat, attempting to expose any holes in the fitness of the eventual runner-up but proving vulnerable late in the day. Idee Fixee pulled well clear of the remainder, though, and remains with the potential for better now handicapping from a mark that shouldn't prove beyond him.
EACH WAY
Aljari - 18:00 Chelmsford
Aljari looked potentially smart on the all-weather earlier in his career, his last win coming from a BHA mark of 92 more than two years ago, and he didn't shape badly on debut for Tom Clover when finishing fifth over course and distance last month. That was his first start for eight months and he didn't finish far behind Jilly Cooper despite not getting the clearest of runs, so he could well be chancing in another competitive race from what is now a career-low mark.
