Daryl Carter's Tips: 14/1 Willie's Mystical Power is underestimated at Naas

13:15 Plumpton - Back Authorised Speed @ 2.35/4 2pt

Authorised Speed - currently 11/102.11 on the Betfair Sportsbook and 2.35/4 on the Betfair Exchange - has taken a short walk in the morning markets, but he was sure to hack up at Ascot on his chasing debut but for coming down at the second last.

Providing that hasn't dented his confidence, he should be much better suited to today's testing ground, and there was no knocking his jumping technique for much of the stronger race at Ascot last time.

The handicapper has put him up two pounds for that effort, but he surely would be holding a rating in the 140s had he not departed.

Today's race is much easier on paper, and this classy individual has time figures in abundance to suggest he is better than a rating of 135. The only time he has faltered has come in the Aintree Grade 1 Hurdle when shaping well for a long way, Sandown's Grade 1 Tolworth and The Supreme Novice hurdle when a creditable fifth.

He makes stacks of appeal against this bunch, and any 11/82.38 or bigger is acceptable when he should be a 10/111.91 chance. However, given his weakness this morning, back him on the Betfair Exchange.

13:45 Plumpton - Back West Warhorse @ 8.27/1 1pt

West Warhorse's - 8.27/1 on the Betfair Exchange- recent Fakenham 16-length romp was a race there for the taking, but what he achieved in that performance seems to have been underestimated in this market.

Alice Stevens gave the six-year-old a strong, prominent ride, and he showed a high cruising speed and a bright turn of foot to clock a good number - much quicker than the 2m winner For Pleasure - and the fastest circuit time on the card.

Given that was a performance that far surpassed anything he had achieved in previous starts, further progress could come from him. He caught the eye in a deep Wetherby Bumper last February, which suggested he possessed a good level of ability, and he now looks ready to fulfil it.

Classic Anthem holds the strongest form in the race, but he was rated 114 before winning at Sandown 30 days ago, and he didn't need to improve on his previous third at the same venue to score. His current rating of 120 might look a little high, and giving five pounds to the selection certainly brings them closer than the market suggests.

West Warhorse is worth siding with as the value play in this contest at 4/15.00 or bigger, as I make him a clear second favourite at 11/43.75.

14:00 Naas - Back Mystical Power @ 14/115.00 1pt e/w

Mystical Power - 14/115.00 on the Betfair Sportsbook - looked exceptional when winning back in July, and he holds the most substantial time figure in my book. His Galway hurdle debut victory clocked an excellent speed figure, and interestingly, after the race, Willie Mullins mentioned the Grade 1 Royal Bond.

With that engagement passed it can only be a positive that he has found another Grade 1 assignment for him here. Mullins has only sent Duc Des Genievres into this race on season return, who finished third before subsequently finishing fifth in the Ballymore, so it may be wise not to underestimate him. Given the well-bred nature of the selection being by Galileo and a first foal out of Annie Power, he looked up to this level coasting across the line at Galway.

Admittedly, that was a much lesser race than this, but the form and collateral form suggest he only has a little to find with some of these. He showed plenty of dash, and the improvement from his bumper start to hurdle was significant.

He looks well worth taking a chance with at big odds and may outpace these. I like him a lot as a prospect, and he has been underestimated based on the timing of his Novice Hurdle debut when, in reality, nothing in this field has achieved much more.

I could be wide of the mark here, but I have advised him for the Ballymore in this week's Cheltenham Focus, and I hope my eyes haven't deceived me.

The level set by this year's novices is not surpassable by any means. I really think this is a below-par year for stand-out quality. Fire Fox dictated a slow run affair to beat Ballyburn last time on hurdle debut, but he rates the biggest danger.

An Tobar was third in the Royal Bond, but that's only 130's form, and Chapeau Du Soleil surely wants more of a stamina test than this, having won a very poor Maiden Hurdle in receipt of weight. At the same time, Croke Park and Lecky Watson both want 3m.

Any 8/19.00 or bigger is acceptable about the speed horse in the field, and he rates a good each-way bet at his current 14/115.00, which is a stand-out with Betfair.
