Rachael Blackmore Superboost
Day one of Aintree saw Betfair's Superboost land as Rachael Blackmore and Bob Olinger finished in the top two on Thursday, and today we are boosting her once again onboard Envoi Allen!
You can back Rachael and Envoi Allen for a Top Three finish in the 15:30 today at Aintree at the Superboost price of 6/42.50! (was 4/51.80).
Aintree - 14:20: Back What's Up Darling
What's Up Darling was one of my Cheltenham selections in the Martin Pipe and that was his first attempt at going up in trip and also his first in such a big field with the hustle and bustle of one of those big handicaps.
It was no more than a fair run in sixth and 15L down from his opening mark of 137, and he's down a 1lb for that.
He did win a Grade 3 earlier in the season over 2m and it was interesting tapping into Gordon Elliott's comments afterwards in describing him as a "speed horse", so there's thinking that Aintree could be more his track.
Of course the ground blunts that a bit, but What's Up Darling has form in heavy. With five places on the Sportsbook and drifting to 14s, we can go each-way.
Aintree - 16:05: Back Arizona Cardinal
Another each-way race with six places for the Topham and last year's winner Bill Baxter is a touch easy on the Sportsbook from 9/25.50 to 13/27.50.
Stuart Edmunds has Arizona Cardinal in great nick, and this looks the ideal race for him after a couple of easy wins and he's a 14/115.00 chance.
He came back after wind surgery to win in the winter at Leicester quite comfortably in a 0-130 and bettered that and showing himself in great shape after the op with a 14L in the Forbra Gold Cup at Ludlow.
Those two wins came on soft, which showed another side to him as he had been successful on a better surface - notably winning the Staffordshire Plate last term at Uttoxeter.
He's a good jumper and these sharper tracks suit him, and with the Topham as his main aim mentioned after Ludlow, he can outurn his odds.
With a record of 4-9 over fences and the hike in weights to get into this, and he's one of the younger brigade.
