Rhys Williams has analysed Tuesday's racing and has one selection at Wolverhampton...

Wolverhampton 15:10: Wadacre Gogo 1pt win 13/2

Colinton is a short-priced favourite for this mile-and-a-half handicap after winning at this track last time despite being caught wide early on but I'm not convinced about the significant step up in trip for him and I'm taking him on with a new recruit for Mark Johnston.

Wadacre Gogo had five runs in Ireland for Fozzy Stack and she showed minor promise at a low level while wearing a hood in all five starts.

Her inexperience was clear on debut over a mile at Dundalk when she raced greenly on the bend and then wandered in the straight, plugging on to finish seventh.

She was well held again on her next start over the same C&D when she was soon detached at the back of the field and had to be pushed along at various stages down the back straight to try to stay in touch. She was still in last entering the home straight before running on to finish sixth.

Leopardstown form working out very well

Having been well beaten on her turf debut at Gowran, she ran fairly well in what turned out to be a very strong race for the grade at Leopardstown on handicap debut over 1m2f. She raced in midfield before briefly hitting a flat spot leaving the back straight when she had to be pushed along.

She was shaken along again turning the final bend and appeared to be going nowhere but she ran on quite well in the final furlong to finish eleventh, beaten 8¼ lengths.

The winner, Aurora Princess, won again next time and is now rated 16lb higher. The runner up was beaten a head off a 4lb higher mark next time and is now rated 8lb higher. The third, Moddy Poddle, has won her next two starts and is now rated 20lb higher. The fourth was beaten a neck off a 4lb higher mark next time and won on her first start in Britain following that. The fifth, Right Turn, is now rated 8lb higher.

Wadacre Gogo failed to take a step forward from that on her final start in Ireland at Tipperary over 1m4f. She was shaken along leaving the stalls and raced in midfield on the inside for much of the race. She made some ground turning the final bend to be just behind the leaders entering the home straight before dropping away under pressure.

Removal of hood to bring improvement

She has since been moved by her owner to join Mark Johnston and now races for the first time without a hood.

Given that she often appeared to race lazily at times and regularly needed to be shaken along in the early and middle stages of races, I think the hood had a negative impact on her so the removal of that could result in her travelling with more enthusiasm and improving as a result and she starts life in Britain off a lowly mark of 49 in a weak race.

It may be that she's just not straightforward, as she has looked a bit awkward under pressure, and it's difficult to be sure exactly what trips she wants but I think Wadacre Gogo has the potential to be more of a danger to the favourite than the market suggests. Any 11/2 or bigger appeals.
