Alan has a bet for the second day of the Cheltenham November meeting

"He needs to improve on the two starts over fences thus far, but those efforts were over shorter, and he's always had the look of an out-and-out stayer."

Back Rosmuc Relay @ 5.85/1 in the 14:07 at Uttoxeter

Alan Dudman is looking forward to Saturday's action at Cheltenham and Uttoxeter, and he has a double-figure priced selection at Prestbury Park...

Arthur to get it right and will welcome the rain

13:05 Cheltenham - Back Arthur's Gift Win and Place @ 14.013/1 and 4.03/1

We couldn't quite get the in-running lay of 1.20 with Laura Bullion at Dundalk yesterday, and it was probably a case of being too greedy as she was matched at 1.528/15 and finished out of the money in fourth. Right horse and play, wrong price.

I am hoping we have the correct chaser for one of the early races at Cheltenham on Saturday, and Arthur's Gift is a big price at 14.013/1.

He was a fair staying hurdler a couple of seasons' ago rated in the mid-130s, but his career over fences so far has been mostly in some tough handicaps. He ran in the 2019 Midlands Grand National without any joy, but he didn't run too badly in last year's Welsh National - a race in which he didn't see out the distance.

With rain forecast for Cheltenham, we could be looking at soft conditions for this, which will suit Arthur's Gift with stamina assured for 3m1f. Zac Baker has the ride for this amateur and conditionals' race with a mark that doesn't look too prohibitive from 133. He could outstay a few of his rivals.

At double figures, he is worth playing in the Place market too.

Rely on Bailey's Relay to earn a profit

14:07 Uttoxeter - Back Rosmuc Relay @ 5.85/1

It's time for another Kim Bailey horse, and the more rain the better will suit Rosmuc Relay - a proven heavy ground performer. Back him at 5.04/1.

Out of the 10 runners in the field, six will be out for the first time this season - including the selection. However, Bailey's horses are so forward in terms of their fitness, we should feel fairly confident in getting a run for our money. The trainer produced Younevercall to run a screamer at Kempton recently from a massive lay-off, so we'll continue with that angle.

He needs to improve on the two starts over fences thus far, but those efforts were over shorter, and he's always had the look of an out-and-out stayer. The 3m2f in testing ground are both plusses.

Bailey continues to fire in the winners too, he had one at Cheltenham on Friday to add to the week's tally of successes at Hereford and Ayr.
