Today's Horse Racing Tips: Kerb can step over the winning line at Fontwell

Alan heads to the picturesque Fontwell for two bets on Friday

Fontwell's two-day fixture starts on Friday, and Alan Dudman is looking for a winner at the Sussex track...

"Moving up in distance on Friday should suit, and from a 2lb higher mark in a race that doesn't look the most competitive, he looks a fair price."

Back Kerb Line @ 5.04/1 in the 16:30 at Fontwell

Buster can finish like a train at Fontwell

15:20 Fontwell - Back Buster Edwards @ 5.04/1

The conditional jockeys will be in action for the 15:20, and rising star Jack Tudor has a good chance of riding a winner with his mount Buster Edwards.

The 7yo made his chase debut over course and distance last time behind Schnabel and Pontresina, in what looked a reasonable handicap chase for novices. He plugged on for third, but that was his first run of the season so he should improve.

Rain is forecast for Friday, and Buster Edwards might enjoy a bit of soft ground as he won twice last season over hurdles at Haydock in testing conditions.

He's rated 117 over fences, and he has a bit of scope from that mark given that he stays so well, whilst Friday's 3m2f distance as a stamina test looks ideal. Fontwell also suits the horse as he won at the track over hurdles last year.

Kerb Line cans step up on promising Ffos Las run

16:30 Fontwell - Back Kerb Line @ 5.04/1

Kerb Line caught the eye on more than one occasion last term, and he can get his season off to a winning start in the 2m3f Handicap Hurdle at 16:30.

Trained by Jeremy Scott, the 7yo ran well at a big price at Exeter last winter before producing a personal best in awful conditions at Ffos Las in March. He was backed that day in the betting.

He travelled very well in heavy ground for the Ffos Las run, but was unlucky in the closing stages when hampered against the jumping rail two out. He landed flat footed, but to his credit he rallied and stayed on well for third.

Moving up in distance on Friday should suit, and from a 2lb higher mark in a race that doesn't look the most competitive, he looks a fair price at 5.04/1.
