The Punter's Preview: Event specialist chanced at 54/155.00

Steve Rawlings: Although he finished a respectable 28^th at the Open Championship in July, the five-time major winner, Brooks Kopeka, hasn't been close to his best this summer.

Having finished 98^th in the FedEx Cup standings, the 36-year-old has secured his card on the PGA Tour for next season but it's not a surprise to see him playing in Europe this autumn, given his route the PGA Tour was via the HotelPlanner and DP World Tour.

After a 55^th place finish in the Irish Open and a missed cut in the BMW PGA Championship, Koepka comes into the event under something of a cloud, but this is a tournament he's enjoyed over the years and an upturn in form would be no surprise.

Stretching back to 2013, Koepka has event form figures reading 50-9-2-7-10-15 and although he missed the cut at the host venue, St Andrews, in the 2022 Open Championship, he finished 10^th in that event back in 2015.

Long Odds Tips: Back multiple winner at a big price

Steve Rawlings: Playing in his first Open Championship a couple of weeks before his 23^rd birthday, Casey Jarvis opened the event with a three-over-par 73 that saw him languishing in a tie for 106^th.

But he ended the week in a tie for sixth.

Jarvis got off the mark on the DP World Tour with back-to-back victories in Kenya and South Africa in February and March and he traded at a low of just 1.774/5 on the Betfair Exchange to win for a third week in-a-row when finishing second at the Joburg Open.

The South African hasn't been at his best for a while now and his first four appearances in this event have produced figures reading 61-54-MC-147 but he clearly enjoys links golf if he can finish inside the top six in his first Open and I was happy to chance him at a triple-figure price.

Course and current form stats

Course Form Pick: Englishman Hatton has a superb history of course form at St Andrews: finishing second last year when he was defending the title, as well as second in 2021 and 2018.

The Punter's Preview: 33/134.00 Marco fancied to get off the mark on the PGA Tour

Steve Rawlings: Marco Penge, who won three times on the DP World Tour last year, as well as finishing second at the Scottish Open, has missed a huge part of the year due to suffering with intermittent vertigo-like symptoms since he picked up a viral infection in Dubai back in November.

Penge missed the cut at the US PGA Championship in May due to his ailments, believed to be caused by a vestibular ocular deficiency, but after another couple of months off, he finished a respectable ninth at the BMW International Open in July.

After a narrow-missed cut in the Scottish Open the following week, Penge finished a respectable 18^th in the Open and although he was never in-the-mix at either the Rocket Classic or the Wyndham Championship, he returned to Europe and contended strongly in the British Masters where he finished sixth after being matched at a low of 1.42/5 in-running.

Penge finished 18^th from off the pace the following week in the Omega European Masters and he finished 10^th in his last event, the first FedEx Fall Series event, the Biltmore Championship, two weeks ago.

Sitting at number 105 in the FedEx Cup standings, Penge is looking to climb into the top 100 to secure his playing privileges so he'll be feeling the pressure but the venue looks perfect and at no bigger than 25/126.00 on the High Street, he's a fair price at 33/134.00.

Each-way Picks: from 35/1 to 45/1

Dave Tindall: Four top 10s in Johnny Keefer's debut season have included third places at both the Texas Children's Houston Open and the Scottish Open so, at 78th in the FedEx Cup charts, he's all set to make the top 100 who keep their cards.

Last time out Keefer finished seventh at the Biltmore Championship Asheville thanks to a 62-65 charge on the weekend. The 25-year-old actually started sluggishly on the front nine but then came home in 29 thanks to five birdies and an eagle.

It's his first start at the course but it doesn't take much learning and seventh place (65-66-64 final 54 holes) in the Korn Ferry's Utah Championship last year bodes well.

An excellent long driver of the ball, Keefer sits third for Greens In Regulation this season. The putter has held him back a little but fifth for SG: Putting at the Biltmore last time is a very promising sign. Back him at 35/1 in the 5 Place market.

First Round Leader Tips: 35/136.00 Jackon can be Suber on day one

Dave Tindall: Jackson Suber was the FRL at the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale just five starts ago. That was thanks to a 65.

He opened with that same number at the Biltmore Championship Asheville on his latest start to sit third following the opening lap.

Suber's appeal grows when noting that he was fourth after day one on his debut here last year. Opening rounds of 66-67 put him third at halfway before he settled for 15th.

Widening it out, Suber is also fourth for R1 Scoring in 2026 (68.74) so there's plenty to suggest he can rack up the birdies from his 07:57 tee-time (10th).

Current Form Pick: While there are seven weeks between results for Ben James the US golfer has nevertheless recorded two very good results with a third place finish at the Wyndham Championship followed by a runner-up spot at the Biltmore. No other golfer in the field really comes close to that.
