Bank of Utah Championship 2026: Dave Tindall's each-way picks from 35/1 to 45/1

Introduction to the Bank of Utah Championship

For those who think a lot of PGA Tour courses look a bit samey, welcome to the Bank of Utah Championship.

Black Desert Resort was designed by Tom Weiskopf and the red rock cliffs of Greater Zion, which form the backdrop, give it an other-worldly feel.

The 7,421-yard par 71 was cut through a lava field and only fully opened in 2023.

It means we've had just two editions of the event and both have been characterised by low scoring.

Matt McCarty shot 23-under to win the first in 2023 while Michael Brennan fired 22-under last year.

It also staged an LPGA event in 2025, South Korean Haeran Ryu winning that one with 26-under.

Adam Svensson shot a 60 in 2024 so you get the idea: go low or go home.

As this is Utah, another thing to note beyond the wide fairways and bentgrass greens is the altitude which makes the ball fly further.

Bank of Utah Championship Bet 1 - Johnny Keefer each-way @ 35/136.00

Both McCarty and Brennan were new kids on the block when it came to the PGA Tour, so I'm going to side with another rookie in Johnny Keefer.

I'll start with scoring. Keefer won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour last year and did so by shooting the lights out in birdie-fests.

He landed the Veritex Bank Championship in April with 30-under and then claimed the NV5 Invitational after firing 26-under. In both events he shot a 61.

Four top 10s in his debut season have included third places at both the Texas Children's Houston Open and the Scottish Open so at 78th in the FedEx Cup charts he's all set to make the top 100 who keep their cards.

Last time out Keefer finished seventh at the Biltmore Championship Asheville thanks to a 62-65 charge on the weekend.

It's worth adding a little detail to the 65. The 25-year-old actually started sluggishly on the front nine but then came home in 29 thanks to five birdies and an eagle.

It's his first start at the course but it doesn't take much learning and seventh place (65-66-64 final 54 holes) in the Korn Ferry's Utah Championship last year bodes well.

An excellent long driver of the ball, Keefer sits third for Greens In Regulation this season. The putter has held him back a little but fifth for SG: Putting at the Biltmore last time is a very promising sign.

Back him at 35/136.00 in the 5 Place market.

Bank of Utah Championship Bet 2: Harry Hall each-way @ 35/136.00

Harry Hall has to be on the radar this week given his various attributes.

One is winning events with a raft of birdies. The Englishman claimed his one PGA Tour title, the 2024 ISCO Championship, with 22-under while his two Korn Ferry victories were achieved with totals of -20 and -22.

Next up is current form. In his last five events, Hall has a fifth in the Wyndham Championship and a third in the DP World Tour's European Masters.

The latter could be significant. Crans is high up in the Swiss mountains and Hall is a Las Vegas resident (2,000 feet above sea level). "It's nice to be at altitude, I live at altitude, and that was pretty familiar," he said after an opening 65 in Switzerland.

He also looked comfortable on his debut at this course on his only visit in 2024 - well, for three rounds at least.

Hall carded rounds of 65-69-64 to sit sixth with a round to play but then fell away on Sunday to finish 35th. That final position clearly doesn't tell the whole story.

This season Hall ranks 24th for SG: Putting and 19th for Birdie or Better Conversion, two stats that should translate well for this week's test.

Let's play him at 35s in the 5 Place market (just 20s in the 10 Place).

Bank of Utah Championship Bet 3: Nick Taylor each-way @ 45/146.00

The Presidents Cup was a tale of what might have been for the Internationals.

They took a three-shot lead into the final day at Medinah but were then blown away by an American fightback in the Sunday singles.

Only three of Geoff Ogilvy's visitors avoided defeat and Nick Taylor was one of them after halving with Russell Henley.

With 2.5pts from his four matches, Taylor can certainly feel proud of his performance and that tally was enough for the Canadian to win the Top Rookie market.

Going into the event, he'd been making cut after cut without really challenging but his performance in Illinois could provide the spark.

Taylor's impressive haul of five PGA Tour wins includes a Fall Series event as well as a win on another very famous Weiskopf course, TPC Scottsdale.

That was achieved just two years ago with 21-under (he also finished runner-up there in 2023) and came between a thrilling win in his home Canadian Open in 2023 and victory in the Sony Open of 2025.

The 38-year-old played this event last year and produced a solid tied 25th after shooting all four rounds in the 60s.

That, combined with his Presidents Cup performance and previous win on a Weiskopf desert track, fuel the idea that he could be ready to pop again.

Take the 45s with 10 places as he's 50s with just five.
