Chennai Super Kings v Delhi Capitals
Saturday 10 April 15.00
TV: live on Sky Sports
Top Chennai runscorer
Faf Du Plessis has a 36% win rate in the last three years on top bat in the IPL. At 3/1 he is the only Chennai batter who is a wrong price with value in short supply.
There are some stinkers around - Robin Uthappa's 4/1 when he has just a 4% win rate will not be bettered (or should that be worsened) in the tournament.
MS Dhoni is close to a wager. At 15/2 Sportsbook give him a 11.8% chance. On win rate he is 10.3%. Sam Curran will be popular at 13/2 but it's not big enough for how often he wins.
Top Delhi runscorer
Sportsbook have price-boosted Delhi's top-rated Shikhar Dhawan to 11/4 for honours. That means he squeezes into the bet frame - providing an edge of 0.5%. On a flat wicket, as discussed in the match preview here, he can go well.
At 4/1 Pant (20%) is bang in line with how often he wins and is the only other contender on win rates. Shimron Hetmyer at 7s is close but no cigar.
Top Mumbai bowler
There will be no Kagiso Rabada or Anrich Nortje for Delhi as they have to serve the isolation period. Rabada returned monies 58% of the time in the last three years and Nortje 50%.
Ishant Sharma may well step up as the pace-bowling spearhead. He has a rate of 28.5%. Sportsbook go 6/1 as they have included Rabada and Nortje in the market. Amit Mishra is also value at 7/2 but Ishant gives the greater edge. Ravi Ashwin is also a fair wager at 4/1, returning 34% of the time.
Top Bangalore bowler
There is value aplenty on top Chennai bowler as well. Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur and Imran Tahir are all big contenders, particularly as Lungi Ngidi will miss out due to quarantine.
At 4/1 Bravo has an 18% edge, Thakur's 10/3 gives us seven points and the 7/2 on Tahir gives up 17.8%. The likelihood that Bravo will bowl at the death adds to his appeal.
