Team news
Pakistan look stronger at the end of the tournament than they did at the start. Mohammad Haris came in at No 3 and blitzed the South Africans while Shaheen Shah Afridi has warmed to his task after injury.
Asif Ali has mysteriously disappeared from the XI. But it's hard to argue they've missed him. Still, qualification requires a big win and other results going their way.
Probable XI: Rizwan, Babar, Haris, Masood, Nawaz, Iftikar, Shadab, M Wasim, Naseem, Rauf, Afridi
Bangladesh will argue they should have beaten India last time out. That they got so close was down to one man and one man only: Liton Das.
Das smashed the bowlers to all parts and it underlined T20's unpredictable nature. If one player hits the heights anything can happen.
The reality is that his other team-mates were hopeless with the bat. Had they been merely average, Bangladesh would have won.
Probable XI: Shanto, Das, Shakib, Afif, Yasir, Nurul, Mosaddek, Taskin, Shoriful, Mustafizur, Hasan
Pitch report
Seventeen from the last 24 at the Adelaide Oval have been won by the team batting first. And more than 160 is a minimum. We're not convinced Bangladesh would make much use of it, though. It could pay to go low on their runs. There will be cheap lays at 140 or more. And big prices to go very low.
How to play
Pakistan are 1.271/4 and Bangladesh 4.77/2. Bangladesh have actually shortened from 5.39/2 so we're already turning up our nose.
There is a case for a trade, we guess, if they bat first with that toss bias but relying on Bangladesh at this stage of the tournament would be an act of desperation.
Tops value
Mohammad Rizwan has been one of the biggest disappointments in the tournament but his win rate remains ridiculous even with only one win so far on top Pakistan bat. Sportsbook have boosted him to 5/2 and that is a risk.
Mohammad Wasim has an excellent record with the ball against Bangladesh and the 5./1 about him taking most wickets for his team looks generous.
Das has been boosted to 7/2. Shorful Islam is underrated at 4s for top bowler for the Banglas.
