The best fighter on the planet comes to London this weekend and Betfair Ambassador David Haye tells fight fans what they can expect from Vasyl Lomachenko...

"There’s a real aura of invincibility about this man and it’s one few have ever got near penetrating"

Best pound-for-pound fighter in the world

Vasyl Lomachenko takes on Luke Campbell at the O2 Arena on Saturday and fight fans are in for a treat. They can expect pure skill and ridiculous speed, someone who has complete confidence in the fact he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. There's a real aura of invincibility about this man and it's one few have ever got near penetrating.

There's only one man who was able to land a decent shot on Lomachenko and that was Jorge Linares. It wasn't a big knockdown, more of a flash knockdown, and Loma got up, turned the tide and stopped Linares in the 10th round. He is about as unbeatable as you're likely to see in modern boxing.

That means we're in for a superb fight because Luke Campbell is also a very good fighter. He's underrated but he's an Olympic gold medallist and capable of holding his own in this bout. It's just a shame he's in with the best of the best on Saturday night.

Campbell win would top them all

If Luke Campbell is able to, somehow, find a way to win this fight it would go down as one of the biggest upsets in British boxing history. It would take pride of place alongside the likes of Lloyd Honeyghan's win over Donald Curry in Atlantic City all the way back in 1986.

Gerrard McClellan came to England and bet a large portion of his purse on him stopping Nigel Benn in the first round. Many believed that was a shrewd bet, but Benn weathered the early storm and scored, in my opinion, the greatest upset story in British boxing history. If Campbell is able to beat Lomachenko it would top them both.

Smart money is on Lomachenko

If I'm betting on this fight, I'd go with Vasyl Lomachenko to win on points or by late stoppage. A win for Lomachenko would be where the smart money is. If you want to back Luke Campbell and really believe he's the man to upset the applecart and cause one of the biggest shocks in world sport, his best chance would be in winning on points. He's a lot taller, a southpaw, awkward and he has incredible amateur pedigree.

Campbell has shown, continuously, he is a world level fighter. He lost to Jorge Linares on points, the same man who lost to Lomachenko, of course, but that isn't always the way boxing works. If you're betting with your heart you can have an interest on Campbell scoring a massive upset. If he does it, you will live off the fact you were one of only a few who predicted it.
