Fans bought tickets for up to £13K as hotly anticipated 11 December fight sold out in one hour

The all-British heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua sold out in under an hour today as fans paid up to £13K for tickets to the 11 December bout in Cardiff.

At noon today, thousands of fans logged on to try to book their place at the Principality Stadium. The most expensive tickets were £13,128, including booking fees, while the cheapest were available for £88.50.

Both Fury and AJ in full fight mode after first news conference goes ahead with respect and laughter

The all-British heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua moved a step closer after both fighters turned up for Wednesday's new conference in London, which bizarrely ended with Joshua tickling Fury's stomach.

After contracts were signed and a fight date, venue and TV details made official last Thursday, it emerged over the weekend that the fight could be in doubt because of the involvement of Dana White.

But there was no suggestion of the fight not going ahead during Wednesday's news conference with both men showing huge respect for each other, sharing laughter and even talking about going for a pint together, before declaring that they are in full fight mode and expecting to clash in the early hours of Saturday 12 December.

The official date for the fight is Friday 11 December at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, but because host broadcaster Netflix want to cater for American fight fans, the ring walk is not expected to take place until around 2am Saturday.

December's all-British heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is odds-on at 1.331/3 to go ahead according to the Betfair Exchange, this despite Fury himself saying the fight has only a one per cent chance of going ahead.

Fury was casting doubt specifically about the fight scheduled for Friday 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, and does believe that the two fighters will clash at some point as contracts have been signed.

The main stumbling block to the fight going ahead appears to be the involvement of UFC president Dana White, with Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn saying that AJ's contract specifically prevented White and American sports entertainment company TKO from having a promotional role.

And Fury believes that Joshua is using this as an excuse to pull out of the fight.

The long-awaited fight, which has been an on-off saga for almost 10 years, will be broadcast live on American-owned streaming channel Netflix.

Although the fight's official date is Friday 11 December, it is expected that the ringwalks won't take place until the early hours of Saturday in the UK, a schedule that will cater for viewers in the USA.

Inspiring a generation, says AJ
