The inaugural Betfair Poker Live event in Dublin was a roaring success with a field of 72 poker players descending on the famous Fitzwilliam card room in the heart of the Emerald Isle.
These 72 players created a prize pool of €26,640 and a first place prize of €9,370, that was in the reach of every player in the tournament due to the exclusive nature of such a compact field, and by the time the two-day Main Event had drawn to a close and the dust had settled on yet another successful Betfair Poker Live event it was Janos Jeszek who emerged victorious.
Everyone started the day with 15,000 chips but Jeszek found himself down to just 3,000 by the time the players went on their first break but he fought valiantly and managed to claw his way back into contention and made it to the final table third in chips. Jeszek started the final table playing tightly but then really opened up his game and when the tournament reached the heads up stage he held an 800,000 to 200,000 chip lead over Adam Treanor. It did not take too long for him to press home his advantage and he managed to claim all of Treanor's stack when the latter was all in on a queen-high flop with queen-nine but ran into Jeszek's king-queen.
Here is a video interview with the Betfair Poker Live Dublin Champion, Janos Jeszek.
The next stop on the Betfair Poker Live calendar is marked down as 11-13th of November and sees the tour stop off at the Gran Casino in Costa Brava. Hopefully the sun will be shining to give the players a break from the winter in their home countries but if not the action at the felt will be enough to keep them warm!
Qualification for Betfair Poker Live Costa Brava is now open and you can win your seat for just $0.03! For more details click this little link right here!
