Get on early! Nick's selection goes in the opener at Chester.

I like the look of Citizenship in the opener at Chester today, a maiden due off at 2.20.This colt created a favourable impression on debut in a very hot maiden at HQ and did not finish all that far behind the winner Soul City. There is likely to be a lot of improvement from this Beat Hollow-colt today and he should go close.

At Goodwood today in the 3.15 I will be backing Muthabara in this Group 1 event. This filly has kept the highest company and ran well behind Lush Lashes at Royal Ascot to finish fifth in the Coronation Stakes. She has been crying out for a longer trip and today she should show improvement with the added distance.

Over at Doncaster in the 5.10 Blessing is a filly that is of interest in this intriguing maiden. I was on hand to see this filly work brilliantly at the Fasig-Tipton sales last year in Florida and this daughter of Pulpit was finally knocked down to Sir Robert Ogden for $800K after a protracted exchange. She has a lovely action that will lend itself to fast ground and she could go close at the first time of asking. I would recommend monitoring the market carefully as her Betfair SP may bear no resemblance to the "tissue price" quoted.

In the opening race at Bath tonight at 6.05 I am going to give Timeteam another chance in this maiden . This son of Danetime absolutely hated the soft ground last time out at Chepstow when finishing third to Night Seed. Prior to that run he had run very well in maiden company and he should go close in this event.

At Galway today I like the look of Megans Joy in this historic race at 3.40 .This mare comes in to this race with perfect preparation after running fourth to Larkwing at Tipperary recently.That run should have put this talented mare spot on and she could go well here at a very big price.

In the opening race at Leicester tonight at 6.15 Cook's Endeavour looks to have found a good opportunity to get off the mark at the third time of asking in this maiden. Last time out at Nottingham he was drawn poorly and in the circumstances did well to finish third to Zuzu. At present he is trading at [2.78] on the exchange.

At Goodwood today in the 4.05 Spin Cycle looks very interesting in this five furlong event. Last time out at Ascot this colt by Exceed And Excel just failed to peg back one of the fastest two year olds in the country in South Central in the Norfolk Stakes . Today he faces a very fast group but he should be gathering them in inside the final furlong with his good draw and his liking of fast ground. At present he is trading at [5.0] on the exchange.

At Southwell today in the opening race at 2.15 The Cuckoo is a very interesting runner for Newmarket trainer, M J Wallace.

This son of Invincible Spirit cost only 24,000gns last year but comes from a decent family. This stable can clearly have a horse ready at the first time of asking. His "tissue" price of [7.0] is not available and he is currently trading at [5.0] on the exchange.
