Daily Racing Tips: Three big races, three big bets

"Ghanaati's form is by far the best in the Sun Chariot Stakes. She is a proven Group One filly who I think, if herself of course, is rock solid. I will be having a substantial bet on Barry Hill’s filly as, over a mile at Newmarket against her own sex, she should win."

Simple really, Carl Harris has a trio of selections for a massive day in horseracing

What a great weekend! It starts here with an excellent card at Newmarket, before all eyes turn to Longchamp on Sunday and Sea The Stars' date with destiny in the Arc. The big race of the day is the Cambridgeshire, a mere 37 horses declared for that particular puzzle. I will once again focus on Newmarket where the action is better than the rest put together. There is a big day at Redcar too which is worthy of a mention.

Ghanaati (3.00) (pictured) won the 1,000 Guineas back in May at Newmarket, then won the Coronation Stakes (Group One) at Royal Ascot. Richard Hills reported she was not herself when behind Rip Van Winkle and Paco Boy in the Sussex Stakes but she still ran with credit. Her form is by far the best and she is a proven Group One filly who I think, if herself of course, is rock solid. I will be having a substantial bet on Barry Hill's filly as, over a mile at Newmarket against her own sex, she should win.

I like Sirvino (3.40) in the Cambridgeshire, but with such a huge field this could be a layers benefit. Sirvino has won five handicaps on the spin and was very impressive in the John Smiths. He won at York very easily, the further he went the better he went. Philip Makin has said he is a jockey's dream. Rated 92 he has gone up in the weights from his first winning mark of 52 (boy was he a good thing that day) but I think he could land the six timer and break through the 100 barrier. I really like Sirvino and at the prices ([11.0]) I think he is a very good win and place bet.

Goldikova (2.40) faces 13 rivals in Saturday's Prix de la Foret at Longchamp and with Finjaan not among them she should land a seventh Group One win in the seven furlongs contest, which is a prep-race ahead of her defence of the Breeders' Cup Mile crown. It's simple really, she is an excellent filly and is worth backing, even at [1.5].

Carl Harris' Best Bets for Saturday October 3...

3.00 Newmarket- Ghanaati, Win (NAP) @ [2.5]
3.40 Newmarket (Cambridgeshire) - Sirvino, Win and Place @ [11.0] and [3.6]
2.40 Longchamp- Goldikova, Win @ [1.5]
