Looking for some McCoy magic on a super Sunday

It was certainly nice to get back on the winning thread yesterday. A nice priced winner in Finjara made up for a few disappointments earlier in the week. Sunday is a quiet day for me with the flat cards uninspiring. At least the jumps cards have some interest so it's Newton Abbot for my bets today and I will be in front of the TV hoping that England can win the Ashes..

Tim Vaughan can, it seems, work wonders with horses in his care and with Mission Control (2.00) he is turning a moderate flat horse into a half decent hurdler. Two wins from two starts means that there is a hefty penalty to carry in this novice hurdle, but Vaughan has booked the excellent Dean Coleman to take seven pounds off, which means that Mission Control is well weighted and should win, and for my money, win easily.

The best race of the day is the £30,000 added handicap hurdle, where Nightcru (3.00) is the hat-trick seeking mount of Tony McCoy. The champion jockey will have had the choice of the three J.P McManus owned horses, having ridden and won on both Benetwood and Englishtown to multiple victories of late, he will be sure he is on the best horse.
