Thank God, or at least the BHA race planning department for putting on some decent racing. I have marked out the third week in August, after York, next year to take a holiday. We had two non-runners yesterday, so let's hope for better luck. There is so much good racing today and I am going to get stuck right in. I am focusing on the pattern races, which I seem to do better at. I have five bets for you today.

As I have said before Godolphin and Frankie Dettori are on fire, with 30 and 40 per cent strike rates, respectively. Urban Poet (2.35) sees them team up in the listed March Stakes over 1m 6f. The lightly raced three-year-old followed up his maiden win with a third place in the Gordon Stakes for Mark Johnston. Now with Godolphin they obviously think the extra two furlongs will suit and the drop in class is an obvious positive. This is a horse full of potential and could win this in good style.

Delegator (3.10) makes his debut for Godolphin with Dettori taking the ride. Previously with Brian Meehan he ran a fantastic second to Sea The Stars in the 2000 Guineas having bolted up in the Craven Stakes. He was second to Mastercraftsman in the St James Palace Stakes, genuine Group One form and he should win down in grade to Group Two company. This is a very strong bet, certainly the best of the day and I recommend taking the early prices about a horse that is sure to be well supported. Delegator is my best bet of the day.

Full Mandate (3.45) was an unlucky to meet Lady of the Dessert last time who has confirmed the form by winning a group two at York since. The Hannon team is in good form, as always, and I fully expect Full Mandate to confirm her ability by landing this group three Prestige Stakes over seven furlongs. With Ryan Moore aboard we can have every confidence that she will get a good ride.

Strike The Deal (3.25) ran well last time in the group one Golden Jubilee. That was a much better race than this and as I have said on numerous occasions it pays to follow group one form in a lower grade. Jeremy Noseda will hope to get another win on the board for his four year-old. The handicapper rates him as the best in the race and should he run as he did at the Royal meeting then we should be collecting.

Noble Storm (3.35) is an improving horse that has a handy weight for age allowance in the Beverley Bullet. He won two handicaps at York and Goodwood and now chases the hat-trick. Graham Gibbon's, knows the track well and having been aboard for the last two wins he holds the key to Noble Storm's chances.

You may want to consider a Betfair Multiple with all five bets, which could prove a profitable option should the day go to plan.
