Well, what a week I've had! I am home from hospital after a very stressful time, hoping their was nothing seriously wrong. It transpires that my heart is fit and well, after some rigorous tests and the diagnosis is myocarditis brought on by a virus and all is well now, hopefully. I just have to take it easy today, to let the wound in my leg (they inserted a tube in an artery) heal.

So Tuesday, I am not going to get heavily involved. I have two interesting bets lined up...

13:50 Southwell, Clear Ice- Win. A good winner last time out and a repeat performance will see back to back wins on this fibre-sand. Dandy Nicholls' charge was second on his two previous outings at Southwell. Clear Ice should put clear daylight between his rivals today. Best bet of the day.

14:40 Folkstone, Nikos Extra - Win and Place. A bit of a value bet here with Nikos Extra who was a decent hurdler and looks a chasing type. It could be a good season for the Alan King and Robert Thornton team. Certainly a win and place bet is advised.

Let's hope we have a result today as we step on the gas for the jumps season ahead.
