On a day of slim-pickings, Carl Harris spots a diamond in the rough.
It's another very poor day and I find it hard to get motivated when all that we have on offer is very moderate, low grade racing. If it was not for one horse then today would be no bet, but fortunately there is one very good bet to get stuck in to.
Marine Spirit (2.30) is a handicap debutant who may have been let in lightly off a mark of only 82 and he can continue the fine run of Godolphin. The stable is operating at one win in three runs at the moment (over past 14 days). Marine Spirit won with ease last time at Folkstone in what was a very good time. There looked plenty left in the tank that day and with the form looking pretty strong I can see the boys in blue having yet another winner. This is a pretty decent bet, by any standards, but it is my only bet of the day.
