Gordon Elliott: My verdict on Dumbarton at Wolverhampton today
"He’s up in trip to a mile and a half which might give him a chance to show a bit more, and his handicap mark looks about right."
Following a disappointing run at Dundalk last time, Gordon Elliott hopes Dumbarton will show improvement at Dunstall Park on Friday...
16.50 Wolverhampton - Dumbarton
He finished second-last of 13 runners at Dundalk a couple of weeks ago which was disappointing - but I don't think he should be judged too harshly as he simply didn't travel and just couldn't get into the race. Previously, he won a maiden hurdle at Cork so he's versatile enough and he's in good form at home. He's up in trip to a mile and a half which might give him a chance to show a bit more, and his handicap mark looks about right. As for his chances, these type of races are always tricky enough; but I reckon he's in with a good shout at landing a place.
