Gordon has two at Leopardstown on Saturday
After a profitable trip to Musselburgh earlier in the week, Gordon has just two runners at home this weekend but he's hoping to collect some prize-money with both. Read his thoughts on them here.
He ran a very good race when third behind Sportsmaster last time out - we were very happy with him. I think the ground drying out should suit him and it could bring about a bit of improvement in him. It's a very competitive race, as you'd expect for the track, but we're hoping he can step up to it. Andrew McNamara rides him and I think he'll go well.
He finished second behind Trifolium at Limerick last time but he's come out of that race very well and is in very good form at home. He's come on a lot for the run and is only a five-year-old with scope for improvement but he's near the top of the weights and, obviously, you'd prefer to be a lower down in such a competitive race.
Danny (Benson) is able to claim 7lbs, which is a help, and he'll ride the horse in midfield and hope to make late progress. You can never be too confident in ultra-competitive handicaps such as this one and so I'd be delighted if he got amongst the places. He has an each-way chance, but he'll be a lovely horse when he goes chasing.
Stable update
I still haven't made up my mind as to whether Jessies Dream will go for the Hennessy at Leopardstown or the Red Mills at Gowran Park. We were pleased with him in his schooling hurdle during the week. Davy Condon rode him and he went well apart from making a mistake at the last hurdle.
As reported last week, the Timeform Racing Club's Cause Of Causes has been going well at home and he also ran in a schooling hurdle at Fairyhouse during the week. We were very pleased with how he jumped and he's now just about ten days or so from making his debut.
