All Nick's selections wrapped up

Nick's original selection was a runner at Towcester today but following the cancellation of that meeting Mr Shiambouros has gone back to the formbooks to find another bet for you.

At Southwell today Spitfire Jane in the 2.30 is the only horse in the field with some upside to her and she should prove to strong for her rivals today.

This Xaar filly has had two runs to date and she has shaped as if the added distance should help her.I do not see why she should not handle the surface today and she is currently trading at [2.44] on the exchange.

Today's Selections:
Southwell, 2.30, Spitfire Jane, Win

Saturday: One favourite and one long-shot today...

In the first race at Ascot (1.15) Air Force One looks to have solid claims. In what is a warm contest Air Force One is currently trading at 2.72 for the win. I have really been impressed with the fashion of his last two victories and I think he is the horse to beat here. In addition he is only trading at [7.8] for The Royal and Sun Alliance next month.

Over at Haydock in the 2.45 I will be having a win and place bet on Blue Splash who is lightly raced and has a progressive look about him. The selection is currently trading at [16.5] on the win market and [4.1] in the place in this wide open event. A lot of these have a exposed look about him but I think the selection could go really well here.

Today's Selections:
Ascot, 1.15, Air Force One, Win
Haydock, 2.45, Blue Splash, Win and Place

Friday: Nick's picks today are at Lingfield and Sandown Park

At his current price of [3.15] I will be laying Benllech in the 4.30 at Lingfield. I think that the market has slightly overreacted due to the fact that this horse was struck by a whip close to home last time out. This is a competitive heat and he will need to improve to win this race so I will be pushing the lay button as he faces legitimate competition from at least three rivals in this one.

At Sandown in the 3.45, Punchestowns is a interesting runner in what is a warm contest and he's currently [3.7] on the exchange. His trainer certainly knows how to get one ready off the shelf and there are a couple of horses in this race to obtain a yardstick for this horse. I have backed him at his current price and will monitor the market carefully.

Today's Selections:
Lingfield, 4.30, Benllech, Lay
Sandown, 3.45, Punchestowns, Back

Thursday: One over the jumps and one on the Flat...

Former 80/20 selection Wind Instrument will be carrying some of my cash in the 4.35 at Chepstow and his current price of [5.4] looks fair in the context of this race. I believe he will trade shorter in-play due to his front-running style of racing which should satisfy any back-to-lay clients on the exchange. He has some solid form in the book including a decent third last time out.

Over at Southwell at 4.55 Hawa Khana is my place lay selection for today. This filly has been in great heart at present but I think she may have to much on her plate with the extra weight concession. With little downside on the choice a place lay is the appropriate bet.

Today's Selections:
Chepstow, 4.35, Wind Instrument, Win
Southwell, 4.55, Hawa Khana, Place Lay

Wednesday: Lingfield and Leicester runners have attracted Nick's money...

At Lingfield in the 2.10 - a Maiden run over seven furlongs - Tripod Molly is an interesting runner. She caught my eye at the first time of asking at Wolverhampton when showing enough to suggest that she could win a small race. I will be backing her today in both the win and place markets for small money. Keep your eye on the market because she could be well backed today after her pleasing debut.

Later on at Leicester I will be place laying Scotland Yard at short odds in the 2.30 over two miles. This horse has not convinced me over the smaller obstacles and today he tries his hand over fences. He is currently favourite on the exchange at [4.1] so he should be around [2.3] for the place lay in this competitive heat.

Today's selections:
Lingfield, 2.10, Tripod Molly, Win and Place
Leicester, 2.30, Scotland Yard, Lay Place

Tuesday: A Pair of mares for Nick today...

Wild Ground will be carrying my money in the 3.30 at Folkestone today. At present the choice is trading at [2.68] a price I'm happy to take. She may well try to make her own running and could trade at much shorter odds in the first part of the race to satisfy any back-to-lay clients. Wild Ground is nothing special but the stable is going well and she appears to have little to beat.

In the 2.40 at Newcastle Uncommited should go well at a fair price and looks win and place material in this contest. This Mare performed nicely well last time out at Kelso and showed me she was heading in the right direction. I only think a few have a serious chance here and she is currently trading at [6.4].

Today's Selections:
Folkestone, 3.30, Wild Ground, Win
Newcastle, 2.40, Uncommited, Win and Place

Monday: Nick Shiambouros' spies a lay at Wolverhampton...

Motarjm is currently [2.42] on the exchange for the 3.30 at Wolverhampton today and at that price, I'm a layer. This beautifully bred Elusive Quality gelding changed hands for 5,000gns after a series of disappointing runs for Michael Jarvis. Sadly, this regression has continued for his current conditioner.

I believe that Ready To Crown and Power Shared are legitimate dangers to this heavy favourite. But while Motarjm has all the form in the book to take this - as his current price reflects - he is not for me.

Today's Selections:
Wolverhampton, 3.30, Motarjm, Lay
