The undulations of Goodwood will be the arena for the best of the Flat racing world this week
Glorious Goodwood takes centre stage this week and we caught up with Ralph Beckett to discuss some of his hopefuls at the Sussex track.
"Oasis Dancer will run in the Totesport Mile (Friday 15.25) and it is a good position to be in, going into a 100k race with a contender with a realistic shot. Obviously he will need a bit of luck with the draw but I am very happy with him at home and he should be competitive at the very least."

Lord Of The Stars drops back to 5f in the Molecomb Stakes (16.00 Tuesday) and I know Timeform think it will suit him. I am not concerned about the shorter trip myself and it doesn't look a vintage Molecomb - he has a decent draw and I would be very hopeful he would run a big race.

He was a bit disappointing on his debut but he got upset in the stalls and the same was the case when he was withdrawn at the start at Windsor next time. The best way to describe it was that he attacked the stalls and the whole experience shook him up a bit. He has been gelded since and that has hopefully calmed him down - he has plenty of ability and if he behaves at the start, he should run well (Tuesday 17.05).

I would just be a bit concerned that the ground might be a bit quick for her (Wednesday, 17.10) but they are sure to have put plenty of water on and she might get away with it. She looked an improved filly when she won at Chepstow in May and although this is quite a warm fillies' handicap, she wouldn't be without a chance.

I am hoping that the cheekpieces will work for him (Wednesday 17.45) as he has the ability to win races like this. He looked like he should have won at Lingfield last time but like a lot of these King's Bests, he might save a bit for himself. This is the right race for him and I have a feeling he will like the track, but his nature means you couldn't ever back him with confidence.
Tropical Treat 3yo bay filly

At this stage she is an intended runner in the King George Stakes on Thursday (14.45) and the drop back to 5f should be in her favour. This will be a step up in class but I am really pleased with her at home and she deserves to take her chance.

Kensei 3yo chestnut gelding

Kensei should go well on Saturday as he has come on a good deal for his Sandown win. He had a problem but we have got over that now and he has been pleasing me at home. He is another who should be well suited by this track and although this will be a tougher test, I am very hopeful of a big run.

Lord Of The Stars wouldn't have to improve a great deal to land the Molecomb Stakes on Tuesday and with the prospect of progress now back at 5f - he travelled particularly strongly at Newmarket last time - he should go very well with conditions and draw likely to prove in his favour.
