Paul Hanagan and Cosmic Sun land The King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot last year
We caught up with Ralph Beckett and Richard Fahey this week to discuss some of their better prospects for the next couple of days. Fahey is leading trainer at York and he has some interesting contenders on the Knavesmire on Friday.
"Cosmic Sun has really started to come to himself of late and he should go well this time (Friday, 15.55 York). He did very well for us last year but it has taken a while to get him right this year. The handicapper has dropped him back to a very good mark and although I just worry he might still need this, the signs are much more encouraging."

Belle Des Air 4yo chestnut filly

This is her last chance to run off 85 as she is due to go up after her Epsom. She is in-foal so we are running out of time with her but she is in very good order and Chepstow should suit her (Friday, 20.05). It doesn't look a great race and she ought to go very well.

He managed to finally put his head in front at Ayr last time and although he has his work cut out in what looks a good race [Newmarket, 13.30 Friday], I think he should go well. The step up to 1m will suit him really well and he handles quick ground, but Newmarket handicaps are never easy to win.
Tropical Treat 3yo bay filly
Timeform Rating 104p
Formfigures 17-31
She has pleased us since she won her Listed race at Ayr last month and she deserves a crack in Group company (Friday, 14.45 York). I think a strongly run race over 6f on fast ground should be perfect for her and although she has Clive Cox's filly to beat (Gilt Edge Girl), I am hopeful of a big run.
Carrignavar 2yo brown filly

We run a nice filly called Carrignavar at Nottingham on Saturday [14.05] and although she will probably need the run on her debut, I think she is pretty smart. As I say, she is going to need this first start but as a long-term prospect, I think she could be one to keep on the right side of.

Polar Kite 2yo bay colt

I like him a lot and I felt he was just a bit unlucky at Musselburgh last time. It's a cliché but he really is one for the future and anything he does at the moment is a bonus. I would be delighted if we could find a race for him now and this looks a good opportunity (Friday, 14.15 York) - I do like him though and he is one to follow.
Rose Blossom 3yo bay filly
Timeform Rating 104
Formfigures 74-0126
She is very frustrating as she either looks very good or desperate. She has loads of ability - she showed that at York - but she does what she wants. She might get away with the 6f (Friday, 14.45 York) on fast ground and if she could get an easy lead it would help, but you couldn't ever back her with confidence as she has too many off days.
Fishforcompliments 6yo bay gelding
Timeform Rating 86$
Formfigures 00053-2
William Morgan 3yo chestnut gelding
Timeform Rating 84
Formfigures 0-43253
I run a couple in the 7f handicap at York on Friday (15.20) and both would have a bit of a squeak. Fishforcompliments is a villain, but he ran well at Carlisle on his reappearance and he is very well handicapped on his old form. If he put it all in he would have to go close but we have been thinking that for the last year.
William Morgan is a good hardy horse who has been running consistently this year. Perhaps the big field and strong pace will suit him better but the handicapper has him about right. At least they have both got decent draws.
Cosmic Sun 4yo bay gelding
Timeform Rating 102
Formfigures 1443-07
Cosmic Sun has really started to come to himself of late and he should go well this time (Friday, 15.55 York). He did very well for us last year but it has taken a while to get him right this year. The handicapper has dropped him back to a very good mark and although I just worry he might still need this, the signs are much more encouraging.

Cosmic Sun is back to the same mark as when winning the corresponding race 12 months ago and with the trainer making bullish noises about his recent work, he has to be feared this time. He is clear top-rated in this field and looks to have plenty to recommend him as he bids to follow up.
