Richard Fahey has his string in flying form.

Timeform selects three trainers who have their string in flying form.

"David Nicholls is another Northern trainer enjoying a good start to the season, with Inxile’s win in the listed Cammidge Trophy the highlight of his five winners so far."

Richard Fahey's excellent start at Doncaster on the opening weekend of the 2010 Flat season shows no sign of abating, with his winning tally now standing at ten after Trip The Light's success in the feature race at Catterick on Wednesday. Amongst Fahey's early winners was the lightly-raced five-year-old Red Jade, who again showed his effectiveness on soft ground when comfortably landing a ten-furlong handicap at Doncaster on Lincoln day, producing an improved performance (third has subsequently registered a maiden win). The gelded son of Dubai Destination is capable of further success despite being pushed up 6 lbs in the handicap, and with the current prevalence of his favoured soft ground, Fahey will no doubt have plenty of options in the coming weeks.

David Nicholls is another Northern trainer enjoying a good start to the season, with Inxile's win in the listed Cammidge Trophy the highlight of his five winners so far. Having previously seemed ideally suited to five furlongs, Inxile proved his effectiveness over an extra furlong when making all while carrying a listed penalty in the Doncaster event. The five-year-old has his quirks, but looks up to winning at Group level this year.

William Muir also has his string in rude health as the Flat season gathers pace, having registered three winners from his last eight runners. The Lambourn handler's yard was affected by a virus last season, yet he still managed a career-best season in terms of number of winners. Based on recent results, the Muir stable should be followed for the foreseeable future.
