Timeform looks at two trainers who are in good form...
"Scottish-based trainer Alistair Whillans is beginning to gain recognition on the northern circuit"
Hughie Morrison has been in good form lately, notching up eight wins in the last fortnight. Three-year-old-filly Jasmeno is responsible for two of those wins, and she looks to have more victories in her given the rate at which she is progressing. She won emphatically on both occasions, quickening well clear despite being far from fully extended at Folkestone on the latter. She will tough to beat if turned out under a penalty, but also looks the type continue her progression in a higher grade. Another of Morrison's recent winners is Classically, who narrowly landed a handicap at Kempton, confirming the positive impression he had made at Wolverhampton previously. He shouldn't be hit hard by the handicapper, and looks capable of winning again in a similar event. Morrison has a number of other interesting handicappers, and his runners should be followed in the coming months.
Scottish-based trainer Alistair Whillans is beginning to gain recognition on the northern circuit, and his string is in good shape at the moment. From seventeen runners sent out by the dual-purpose handler over course of August, eleven finished placed, with three winners among them. Social Rhythm was one of those winners, and she should go in again in her current mood. Social Rhythm was competitive from much higher marks a few years ago, and her six-length success at Ayr was a step back towards her very best form. Others to consider from the yard include The Galloping Shoe, a commendable third to Hot Prospect in a strong handicap at Haydock recently, and recent winner Military Call, who seems to have been aided by the application of cheekpieces. The yard as a whole should be followed given its recent form.
