Donald McCain: The verdict on my Sunday runners

Donald has a pair of live chances at Kelso on Sunday.

"I have long thought he (Railway Dillon) would make up into a cracking long-distance chaser and this is the first chance he has had over a real test of stamina....."

Donald has a couple of runners heading north to Kelso on Sunday...

Kelso

12.25 2m Novice Hurdle

Blackwater King

He's a lovely horse and I felt that we got mugged a bit at Sedgefield on his hurdling debut. We had planned to track Evan Williams' horse throughout and produce him late but when that one stopped, we were in front early enough and got picked off late. The experience will have done him some good though and he is well up to winning an ordinary novice hurdle.

14.25 4m Handicap Chase

Railway Dillon

I was pleased with the way he ran at Haydock last month as it was a big step up on his reappearance. I have long thought he would make up into a cracking long-distance chaser and this is the first chance he has had over a real test of stamina. He loves it soft and although he has a big weight to shoulder over 4m, I would think he had to have a solid chance in this field.
