Super Swede turns turnip on final hole
Karlsson conjures up a double bogey finish to throw Hong Kong Open away...
It's an obvious thing to say but to win a tournament you've got to play smart golf for the full 72 holes.
Standing on the 18th tee, Robert Karlsson was just one hole away from doing just that but somehow pulled out a double bogey - his first of the weekend and only the fifth occasion he'd dropped shots all tournament - to hand victory to Miguel Angel Jimenez.
The Swede was matched at [1.19] to win the Hong Kong Open before the blunder after opening rounds of 64, 64 and 66 to stand at 16 under par on the beginning of the final day.
His final total of 14 under was bettered only by Jimenez who finished one ahead. The Spanish Ryder Cup star was matched at [50] to win.
Jimenez sympathised with his fellow European, saying: "I feel sorry for Robert, I don't like to see him finish this way ... I'm going to have a cigar, some nice food, maybe a few whiskies and we'll see what happens."
