Triple bogey mid-round halts German star in tracks
Laid at [1.09] when six shots clear at the outset of the BMW International final round, Martin Kaymer put his backers through the mill after being taken to a play-off against Anders Hansen.
Early bogies were followed by a triple bogey eight in the middle of his round to eradicate his lead. Kaymer then had to scrap it out, eventually birdieing the 18th to force the shootout with the Dane.
The young German, who traded at a high price of [26.0], won on the first hole to soothe the nerves of his backers who took such a low price.
Hansen, backed at an early high of [240.0] traded at a market low of [1.33].
