THE news Evel Knievel is Robbie Maddison, the daredevil has executed a 98-metre motorbike leap in Las Vegas.
In the car park of the Rio Casino and Hotel, Maddison jumped..
The jump broke the previous world record of 84.43 metres set by American Trigger Gumm in 2005 in Australia.
"I'm just starting to realise what I did," says Maddison sat astride his Honda CR450F. "Conditions weren't in my favour with the wind."
Maddison dedicated his record-breaking jump to his idol, Evel Knievel, who died late last year.
"Evel Knievel inspired me to get involved in distance jumps," says Maddison. "It was just such a shame he wasn't here to see the jump as he has always said it couldn't be done."
