Mad Matterhorn

Objective

Progress up the mountain by making successful guesses as to whether the next number drawn will be higher or lower than the last one. The higher up the mountain you climb, the higher your reward. At every level you successfully achieve, you have the choice of collecting your winnings or trying to get to a higher level with a higher payout. You can never lose more than the amount of your original bet though.

The numbers drawn range from 1 - 18.

Earn extra life when you complete a level without making a wrong guess on every level after the first one. This means that if you make a mistake on the next level, you will be able to keep going until you are out of lives.

How to Play

Select a wager amount by using the Increase and Decrease arrows to adjust the default amount displayed. You can also type in an amount.

Click on Play. The climber will move in between the first 2 flags.

The first flag will display a number between 1 and 18.

Select Higher or Lower to bet that the number on the next flag will be higher or lower than the first number generated. You can either click on the arrows on the game screen, shown below, or you can use the Higher and Lower buttons.

The second flag will display a number. You advance if your guess was correct, and continue predicting using the last number displayed.

The same number will never appear twice in a row, so there are no ties.

When 1 appears on a flag you are only given the choice to select Higher because you cannot go lower than 1. When 18 appears on a flag you are only given the choice to select Lower because you cannot go higher than 18. Consider these freebies, because you can't be wrong!

When you reach the end of a level, you will be shown a WIN! amount and you can choose to:

1) Collect Win. You win the flashing WIN! amount and the game ends.

2) Continue. Continue playing and try for a bigger win. By continuing, you forfeit your current win amount. That means if you lose on the next level, you don't get to keep what you won on the first level.

Note that even though you can try for a bigger prize by continuing on to a higher level, you never lose more than your original bet.

The amount you can win at each level is indicated by flags. The amounts shown depend on how much your initial wager was. The higher the wager, the more you can win.

Payouts

The higher you climb, the higher the payout, but you also have to make more decisions at each level. Don't forget that after the first level, every time you make it to a new level without making a mistake, you get an extra life that will let you continue even if you make a mistake on the next level.

• Completing Level 1(bottom) pays 2 for 1 ....... 4 decisions
• Completing Level 2 pays 5 for 1 .......................5 decisions
• Completing Level 3 pays 10 for 1 .......................6 decisions
• Completing Level 4 pays 25 for 1 .....................7 decisions
• Completing Level 5 (top) pays 100 for 1 ............8 decisions

Use the Zoom Out button to see how far up the mountain you are. Then use the Zoom In button to go back to the betting screen.

Go to Main Menu - Options to bring up the following list:

Graphic Quality: You can change this to Low if you are experiencing slowdowns in play because of your computer's processing abilities. Note: Slowdowns in play can also be the result of Internet-related issues such as peak usage periods.

Sound FX: This turns the game sounds (such as the music and beeps when you click on the buttons) on and off.

Load Ambient Sound: This will turn on the sounds of a normal casino, such as people talking in the background in some games. Since Mad Matterhorn is not played in a casino setting, there are no ambient sounds associated with it.
