If you want to experience Las Vegas in style and are prepared to spend a little more on accommodation then there are some superb options open to you. Even though the following venues are regarded as luxury hotels, their rates are still quite attractive when compared to similar hotels in the United Kingdom and Europe.
With the 2013 World Series of Poker almost upon us, there will be many poker players who are making last minute plans to head to Las Vegas for the poker trip of a lifetime.
Finding somewhere to play poker in Las Vegas is a simple task but one area that many people struggle with is which Las Vegas hotel they should stay at during their trip. Here at the Betfair Blog we have taken a look at some of most popular hotels in Las Vegas and given them a brief rundown.
Budget Las Vegas Hotels
Let's face it, although we all like to think we are "balla" the majority of us are not and will be trying to stay in Las Vegas for as long as we can and for as cheap as we can. One venue that is popular with shrewd poker players is the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino on West Flamingo Road.
Some often joke that the Gold Coast is like a retirement home, but with midweek rates of just $35 per night and weekend rates of $74, who cares because the Gold Coast should be within everyone's budget. Food is also cheap at the Gold Coast and it is not a million miles away from The Rio, making it the perfect low-cost hotel for those heading to the WSOP.
Those who would prefer to be on The Strip can head to Harrah's for some relatively low-cost delights. Midweek rates are around $40 per night, but the weekend rates almost triple to $110. Harrah's is the home to Toby Keith's I Love this Bar & Grill among other establishments and you will be within walking distance of most other casinos.
Medium Cost Las Vegas Hotels
Players who are planning on playing in multiple WSOP events may want to check themselves into The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, which is obviously the venue the WSOP tournaments are being played in.
Midweek will set you back around $59 per night, with weekends increasing to $149. Although slightly more expensive than the hotels already mentioned, you will save plenty of money on not having to hire a car, use public transport or the increasingly shady taxi drivers! Plus, if you are tired you can head back to your room during the dinner break.
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is a hotspot for parties but also offers some decently priced room. Staying their midweek will set you back around $69 per night but you will have to fork out $169 per night on a weekend, which in Las Vegas is Friday and Saturday night. Brits heading to Las Vegas will be happy to know Gordon Ramsay recently opened a restaurant called BurGR there, so be sure to check it out!
Luxury Las Vegas Hotels
If you want to experience Las Vegas in style and are prepared to spend a little more on accommodation then there are some superb options open to you. Even though the following venues are regarded as luxury hotels, their rates are still quite attractive when compared to similar hotels in the United Kingdom and Europe.
For $129 during the week and $179 on a weekend you could stay at Bellagio. The Bellagio is the home to Cirque du Soleil, VIP clubs such as The Bank and for the poker lovers there is the famous Bobby's Room. The Bellagio Poker Room is always bustling and features 39 tables, so you should always be able to find a game going.
The Venetian has recently revamped its poker room, which is now the largest poker room on the Las Vegas Strip. During the WSOP The Venetian will be the home to the Deep Stack Extravaganza and Carnevale 2013. It can also be your home for $109 Sunday to Thursday and $169 on a weekend.
Of course, the more you play at certain venues the cheaper the hotel rooms become. High stakes gamblers will often be given rooms for free, while lower stakes players can often secure themselves a significant discount by agreeing to play a certain number of hours at the poker tables on other table games.
