Premier League Darts Betting Tips Night 5 Cardiff: Clayton's consistency to continue in Cardiff

Abigail Davies' Premier League Darts Betting Tips for Night 5

Four nights into this year's Premier League and we have seen four different winners, there are plenty of different narratives forming, with many eyes on whether Luke Littler can add to the four points amassed so far.

  • Jonny Clayton 14/115.00 to win the Premier League

  • Expect fireworks from The Ferret

  • Littler to add to his tally

Welsh number one Jonny Clayton remains top of the table and is the only player yet to have lost a quarter-final contest. He's now 14/115.00 to win the entire tournament, something he did on debut in the event back in 2021.

It's been an underwhelming start to the Premier League season for the reigning World Champion Luke Littler who has thus far picked up just four points, everyone is waiting for things to click for him but he remains the favourite to lift the trophy at 10/111.91.

Stephen Bunting's win in Belfast has put further pressure on Josh Rock, even at this early stage of the campaign. He'll be looking to pick up his first two points against The Nuke, that tie already feels pretty big, even at this early juncture.

Clayton to perform in front of home support

Thursday in Cardiff will be special, the atmosphere electric as Cymru enjoys its one and only night of PDC action in 2026. Whilst Jonny Clayton will be out to make the most of it, put on a show in front of a home crowd and extend his unbeaten run at the quarter-final stage of the event, I want to stay away from results based bets in this one.

It's first against second in the standings and both have impressed immensely in terms of results and the numbers they've produced. I think this could be another epic and I'm backing The Ferret to average over 97.5, something he's done in three of his four opening round matches in this year's Premier League, at 5/61.84.

Clayton has already hit 26 maximums across the four nights played and we all know how adept he is at taking out a ton plus finish, especially a 121, so at 6/42.50, I'm backing him to throw 3+ 180s and have 1+ 100+ checkouts.

This their third meeting of the campaign and it's currently one win apiece with both winning performances, very strong ones.

Things to get even Rockier for Josh

Following the elation that came from producing a perfect leg during his home-coming last week, one of the most enjoyable and magical moments in recent times, Josh Rock must now fully focus on the more series and pressing matter that is his league position.

When you're four weeks into your debut campaign and are the only player left on zero points, it's imperative that you don't panic but also that you start to change your fortunes.

Normally, in this situation, the last player you'd then want to be tasked with facing is Luke Littler but having had an uncharacteristic few weeks himself, it's difficult to predict which version of The Nuke we'll see in South Wales.

He's bound to kickstart his campaign some point soon, surely? And I'm backing the teenager to hit the most 180s and win the match at 10/111.91.

We all know the scoring power Rock possesses but having hit fewer maximums and had fewer visits of 140+ than anyone in the field so far, I think Littler could see this as a wonderful opportunity to make things happen and ignite his Premier League campaign, also ensuring he heads to Minehead for the UK Open full of confidence.
