Check out Abi's Premier League Darts tips for Antwerp

Having made the perfect start to his Premier League campaign, Michael van Gerwen is showing a level of consistency at the start of 2026 that we've not seen for years...

  • Luke Humphries 5/16.00 to retain his title

  • Price to pick up where he left off in Germany

  • MvG's scoring power is back

Favourite to reclaim the Premier League title Luke Littler didn't enjoy a dream return to action in Newcastle but will be desperate to put that right and get some points on the board when he faces Luke Humphries in Antwerp, The Nuke is now 4/61.67 to win the tournament at The 02 in May with defending champion available at 5/16.00.

Price is right in Belgium

For the first time in history, the Premier League rolls into Antwerp, a city that richly deserves to host a night on the darting roadshow given how successful Euro Tour events have been when staged there in recent times, with some of the most respectful crowds we've ever experienced.

Of the eight stars selected for this year's campaign, three opted to travel to Hildesheim earlier in the week to play in the opening couple of Players Championship events of the season.

Whilst Gian van Veen will quite frankly wish he hadn't bothered, it proved to be a wise decision for Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen, the latter reaching the semi-final of the opening event and only being stopped by an unplayable performance from The Iceman on day two.

Both shone in the field of 128 players with the Welsh number two desperately unlucky not to win his first event of the season, averaging over 105 and a half across his seven matches on Tuesday, an astonishingly high level displayed throughout.

Despite being defeated in the final, Price is confident that his fortunes have to change and titles will come if he can continue to play at this level and it's impossible to argue against that.

At 1/12.00 I'm backing him to beat Gian van Veen in his opener this week. He has a glorious record against the Dutchman having prevailed in eight of their previous nine meetings and will undoubtedly be on a high after his start to the week.

In terms of outright, I like the look of The Iceman picking up two or more nightly wins over the course of the campaign at 6/52.20.

MvG is looking mean

Michael Van Gerwen has struggled for a long time to reach the heights that we previously saw from him on such a consistent basis and whilst there have been many false dawns, this current spell that he is having feels like it could be something special.

Having already won the Bahrain Darts Masters, he backed that up by reaching the final in Saudi Arabia the following week, winning the opening Premier League night and enjoying two very good runs on the floor.

Yes there was an early exit at the World Masters but there are so many encouraging signs at the moment with incredible scoring power, big finishes in clutch moments, he no longer seems like he's going through the motions in games.

In his first game of Players Championship 2 he hit a ludicrous eight maximums, taking on another heavy hitter in Josh Rock this week, I think we could see the treble 20 bed take a pounding and am backing +6.5 180s in the match at 6/52.20
