Timeform pick out the horses of interest on Saturday

Timeform highlight three horses of interest at Lingfield, Naas and Newbury on Saturday.

  • Dunleer Crystal can build on latest promise

  • Amazonian Dream hinted at resurgence last time

  • Knight of Allen is ahead of the handicapper

Naas, 13:40 - 'Jockey Uplift' Kennedy can steer Crystal to victory

Dunleer Crystal made no impact on his hurdling debut at Clonmel or in a bumper at Naas, but he proved much more competitive on his return to hurdling at Down Royal in December, finding only the favourite too strong.

Dunleer Crystal wasn't always fluent but he kept on well in second and should benefit from this slightly longer trip, especially if brushing up on his jumping.

He was ridden by relatively inexperienced 7 lb claimer Finn Brickley at Down Royal bit will have the assistance of Jack Kennedy in the saddle for the first time on Saturday and that booking has generated Timeform's Jockey Uplift Flag. Dunleer Crystal is in receipt of 7 lb from Grey Jude, one of the previous winners in the field, and heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings by 3 lb.

Lingfield, 15:30 - 'Horse In Focus' Amazonian Dream can cash in on reduced mark

Amazonian Dream failed to win in 2025 but he fell in the weights as a consequence and left the impression that he's ready to capitalise on that reduced mark when third at Southwell last month.

Amazonian Dream was ridden patiently and still had plenty to do on the home turn, but he kept on strongly in the straight and was only beaten by a couple who raced more prominently.

That strength in the finish earned Amazonian Dream the Horse In Focus Flag from Timeform's reporter, marking him out as one likely to be of firm interest next time, and he is clearly on a dangerous mark having dropped a stone below the rating he last defied at Kempton in December 2024. He would be a long way clear on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings based on that Kempton performance, but even a much more conservative interpretation of his current ability still has him top by 3 lb.

Newbury, 15:55 - Top-rated Knight of Allen looks well treated

Knight of Allen made an encouraging start over fences when runner-up in a novice at Chepstow (albeit last of two finishers) and he built on that promise when landing a handicap here in December, proving himself a better chaser than hurdler in the process.

Knight of Allen was only fourth of five back in novice company at Cheltenham on New Year's Day but that was a strong race of its type and, in Timeform's view, he improved on the form of his Newbury win.

He drops back into handicap company on a potentially lenient mark based on Timeform's assessment of his Cheltenham effort and he comes out with a 3 lb advantage on the weight-adjusted ratings.
