Pontefract, 16:27 - Top-rated Starshine Legend given chance by handicapper
Starshine Legend has been off the track since September 2024. However, he's been given a chance by the handicapper and returns off a 4 lb lower mark than when runner-up at Hamilton when last seen.
Starshine Legend clearly has something to prove after such a long absence, but he's now with Olly Murphy and makes his return with the powerful jumps yard firmly among the winners.
If Starshine Legend does retain all his ability he looks well treated based on the form he showed at Hamilton, and he heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings by 3 lb.

Southwell, 18:30 - Top-rated Faithful Dream has solid claims
Faithful Dream is another who appeals as being on a handy mark and he also heads the weight-adjusted ratings for his race by 3 lb.
He was a respectable third at Chelmsford last time but had shown better form on his two previous outings, firstly when denied by only a nose at Kempton and then when a close-up fifth at Wolverhampton.
The Kempton and Wolverhampton efforts can both be upgraded slightly as he met trouble and wasn't seen to best effect, and he looks on a handy mark based on those performances.

Southwell, 19:30 - 'Horse In Focus' Analogical can build on promising return
Analogical was only narrowly denied on his reappearance over a mile and a half at Lingfield a couple of weeks ago, posting his best effort yet on Timeform's ratings.
He carried his head a bit awkwardly and hung right on the home turn, but he stuck to his task well and went down fighting, leaving the impression that he would benefit from a longer trip around a less sharp track.
That performance earned him the Horse In Focus Flag from Timeform's reporter, marking him out as one likely to be of firm interest next time, and he should be well suited by stepping back up to a mile and three-quarters around Southwell's more galloping course.
