Timeform pick out the horses to note on Friday

Timeform highlight three horses of interest in their racing tips at Wetherby and Newcastle on Friday...

15:20, Wetherby - Bras d'Or appealing on handicap debut

Bras d'Or is a recruit from points who started odd-on favourite for his debut in a bumper at Fontwell in March last year and, though he was unable to land the odds, he did show plenty to work on.

He has also made a promising start over hurdles, running to a similar level in each of his three starts, and the form of his latest run when finishing third at Ayr is working out well.

Bras d'Or split a couple of winners on that occasion, but left the impression that he wasn't suited by notably testing ground that day, asked for his challenge between three and two out though he didn't find as much as expected.

The return to a sounder surface will suit, as will the significant step up in trip, and there should be plenty more to come from him now making his handicap debut from a low base.

19:30, Newcastle - Saytarr can complete a hat-trick

Saytarr amassed a good record on the all-weather for Charlie Fellowes last year, and he has made an excellent start for new connections, making a winning start over seven furlongs at Southwell and following up in even more convincing fashion over a mile last time.

He clearly appreciated the step back up in trip, well suited by a strongly-run race, moving smoothly into contention before being produced to lead in the final furlong.

Saytarr was just pushed out for a comfortable success, a performance supported by a good timefigure, while it can be marked up even further when taking sectionals into account. He has both the Sectional and Horse In Focus Flag and a subsequent 6lb rise in the weights may well underestimate him.

20:00, Newcastle - Cargin Bhui can resume winning ways

Cargin Bhui has been in excellent heart since returning to the all-weather at the turn of the year, gaining reward for his consistency when resuming winning ways over six furlongs at Wolverhampton last month.

He took advantage of a reduced mark on that occasion and he was strong in the betting when following up over the same trip at Southwell two weeks later, deserving extra credit for winning in the manner he did given he came more or less from last to first in a steadily-run race.

Cargin Bhui went extremely close to completing a hat-trick back at Southwell over seven furlongs last time, beaten only a neck by a thriving sort who has gone from strength to strength for James Owen.

He is another with the Horse In Focus Flag and remains one to be interested in following a further 2lb rise in his current heart.
