Ascot, 14:25 - Back Lightningupourdays each-way @ 4/15.00
Norma Harris has enjoyed plenty of success in her colours during a substantial period in the sport and Lightningupourdays could record another notable victory for his owner/breeder in this Class 2 handicap.
This event represents a step up in class for the son of Telescope but, with the form of his recent Hereford comeback working out well, he makes plenty of appeal at this odds with the Sportsbook offering four places.
The handicapper nudged the selection up 2lb for his encouraging third before Christmas and with the winner, Came From Nowhere, now rated 132 following a smooth win at this venue last month, Lightningupourdays could be said to be nicely treated on a perch of 119.
A half-brother to recent Ludlow scorer Magical Maggie, also owned and bred by Harris out of her mare Bollin Across, Alastair Ralph's gelding looked to relish the step back up in trip at Hereford which isn't a great surprise given stayers Cloudy Spirit and Norma Hall both feature in his pedgree.
The Hereford runner-up Good To Be Alive has also won subsequently to boost the form and Lightningupourdays is fancied to become the third winner from the race.

Haydock, 15:15 - Back Holokea each-way @ 11/112.00
Trainer Micky Bowen hasn't been among the winners for a while, but a number of his string continue to run well and the admirable Holokea ought to give punters a good run in this feature marathon event.
Although the selection has been beaten on his last three outings it is not for the want of trying and he again ran a blinder at Windsor last time under a welterweight.
He was picked off close home by Neo King who reopposes here, but of all the runners which raced aggressively that day, he fared the best with five of the first six home all sitting patiently in midfield or even further back in rear.
Those that raced at the head of affairs alongside Holokea were well beaten at the line with the exception of Bowen's seven-year-old and a sharp track like Haydock could really suit his run style.
Hopefully, a big run here will encourage connections to have a tilt at the National Hunt Novices' Chase at the Festival as that could also be a race which fits his profile.

Ascot, 16:10 - Back Top Guy @ 6/17.00
Time may tell that Top Guy faced a pretty impossible task at Newbury last time when trying to reel in the talented C'Est Different.
The selection's Berkshire conqueror now resides on a mark of 131 and looks bound for the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham next month, whereas Dan Skelton's lightly-raced stayer was only inched up 3lb to 106 despite beating 15 other rivals.
That strikes me as fairly lenient handicapping and I'm hopeful the six-year-old can exploit that decision in this handicap which looks sure to be run at a genuine pace given the presence of Diamatiste, Striking A Pose, Heart Over Head and Confinentic who like to get on with things at the head of affairs.
A true gallop will suit the son of Court Cave who won an Irish point and saw the trip out strongly both at Newbury and when succesful at Aintree on his penultimate start.

D'orhy could prove the smart Pic
It is the fourth weekend of Betfair's terrific "Bet £10 Get £10 on racing multiples" promotion so I'm going to have a double focusing on a couple of the day's feature races.
Finding Kabral Du Mathan (Haydock, 14.05) doesn't take much imagination given his odds, but he could simply have too much class for his five rivals with his effectiveness at the track assured. I am going to put him in a double with Pic D'orhy (Ascot, 15:35) who could be a little fresher than Jonbon in the Betfair Ascot Chase as he bids to complete a hat-trick in the race.
