This staying handicap is likely to revolve around the three-year-old Riddikulus and whether she can stay the 1m 6f trip having finished only fourth on her previous attempt at it back in June.
There's little doubt that Grant Tuer's filly is an improved model since then, but there has to be something of a question mark over this trip with her previous winning form coming over shorter.
She could prove herself still well handicapped if the distance proves no issue, but I prefer to side with Jim Goldie's veteran Aighear, who tends to come good at this time of year.
The eight-year-old mare signalled last time that she could well be on the way back having had a quiet time of things this year, coming from the rear of the field to finish fourth at Hamilton having been set plenty to do.
Three of the selection's four career successes have come in September or October and she still looks reasonably treated from a mark that sits just 2lb above her last winning one.

As class 4 Catterick handicaps go, this one is more interesting than most and chances can be given to several of the seven-strong field, with Sir Mark Prescott's Wardlaw sure to be high up on many shortlists.
The US-bred gelding has proven a consistent performer since moving into handicaps, but does tend to have a penchant for finishing in the minor money rather than getting his head in front, as can be seen from his record of six places and just one win from seven starts in this sphere.
While he'll doubtless have his supporters, my money will be going on Charlie Johnston's unexposed handicap debutante Green Area, who may only have won a three-runner novice last time, but the form of that race looks particularly eye-catching.
The daughter of St Mark's Basilica bolted up by six lengths in that Carlisle contest, while the one she left trailing in her wake, Peace Belle, has gone on to run with plenty of credit in listed and Group races since.
Peace Belle now has a BHA rating of 98, which makes Green Area's opening mark of just 79 potentially very lenient, while it could also be siginificant that the filly holds an entry in a valuable Newmarket heritage handicap next month.

Another class 4 handicap at Kempton provides the final bet of the day and it can go to John & Thady Gosden's Godolphin-owned Interstate.
The Gosden team are typically in good form as we head into the dying embers of the turf flat season, having saddled six winners in the past fortnight, and it would be no surprise were this son of Palace Pier to add to that record here.
The three-year-old has made just six career starts and was a winner in novice company just two starts back, where he took care of a promising Roger Varian runner also in the same ownership.
The selection has had just two starts in handicaps, the second of them coming when third at Newbury last time, where he wasn't seen entirely to best effect having had something of a troubled trip.
Interstate also gave the impression there that he's ready for a step up in trip and the extra furlong he gets to work with here can only be of benefit for William Buick's mount, while getting back on the all-weather may also be a help given his US pedigree on the dam's side.
