Today's Racing Tips: Mark Milligan's three bets for Tuesday's racing including 9/1 Ffos Las runner

Catterick, 15:15 - Back Free World @ 3/14.00

Tuesday's cards are about as low key as it gets in the summer months, with modest racing spread across the board, but there are a few I'm interested in, starting at Catterick.

This staying handicap contains plenty who find winning difficult nowadays and my attention was drawn to top weight Free World, who remains a maiden after six starts but is a lot less exposed than his rivals.

Ian Williams' charge has yet be tried over this 2m trip but, being by Australia, there should be a chance he'll get it, while Catterick hardly represents a stiff test of stamina.

There was encouragement in the selection's fourth-place finish in 0-65 company last time and this further drop into a 0-60 against a bunch who hold no secrets from the handicapper may see him find some progress.

Ffos Las, 16:00 - Back Cosmic Jive E/W @ 9/110.00

Ed Walker has got his team in flying form of late (24% S/R in last fortnight) and I'm prepared to take a chance that Cosmic Jive may prove better than a mark of 59 as he makes his handicap debut in this ordinary contest.

The son of Starman cost 32,000 guineas as a foal and I'm sure hopes would have been high at that point that he could develop into a useful performer at least, though he hasn't achieved a great deal in his opening three starts.

However, those three qualifying runs could well have been a means to an end and the most recent one (where he finished eighth at Wolverhampton) isn't working out too badly. The winner went on to follow up in a handicap, while Captive Beauty, who finished two places behind Cosmic Jive, ran well to finish second on her handicap bow.

In a contest that won't take a great deal of winning, Cosmic Jive is worth a speculative each-way poke at 9/110.00.

Ffos Las, 17:30 - Back Ada Rose @ 10/34.33

Ada Rose posted a much-improved performance when convincingly winning a Wolverhampton handicap last time and she'll take plenty of stopping as she bids to follow up in this similar contest.

The Amo Racing-owned filly has done most of her racing to date on the all-weather and showed her first form when stepped up in trip to finish third on handicap bow (also at Wolverhampton) in April.

Her sole turf start came after that at Lingfield, where she never really travelled and ended up well beaten, but I think it would be remiss to suggest she underperformed that day because of the surface and it's likely she just wasn't 100% for whatever reason.

I'm not going to hold that against her as she reverts to grass here, with both Ada Rose's pedigree and price tag suggesting there should be plenty more to come from her now she's up and running.
